The outbound program of SIIB for the batch of 2018-20 was an enthralling experience. Different tasks assigned to us taught the value of time, importance of coordination, teamwork, critical thinking and other essential skills required to be a manager.
9th June was the day when more than 200 students gathered at Symbiosis Infotech Campus, we started at 7am and the journey of 2 hours was entertaining as we were eulogising breath-taking panorama of the Sahyadri Valley. The scenic beauty of Varasgaon Dam backwaters and rolling green hills while playing antakshari was fun-loving part of the journey.
Around 9 am we reached the Surya Shibir an eco-friendly resort nestled deeply in the Sahyadri Valley. We were welcomed by Army Officers who were our companion throughout the programme. After having breakfast, the schedule for the day was briefed to us and we were divided into different groups.
We started for trekking at around 10:30 am. Trekking was like moving out of comfort zone and pushing hard beyond limits. The scenery was mesmerizing, the cold weather, trees, bushes and drizzling rainsfeltlike heaven on earth. After returning back from trek, we had evening brunch and each group was assigned the task to entertain everyone for 10 minutes. Students performed a number of different songs on guitar, some were dancing, singing and others tread the boards with role play.
Next day students came across a number of different activities. The day started by having breakfast with Army Officers at 6 am. After breakfast, each group competed against each other in different activities. These include sheep and the Shepard, human caterpillar, the minefield, crossing the Burma bridge, rappelling and various other obstacle games which transformed us into a courageous person.
The trip came to an end with the final task of presenting a poster of SIIB with some of the accessories we have.
We wrapped up in the evening and after heading back to campus,we ended the excursionfeeling rejuvenated and making new friends!
