“It’s not about ideas, it’s about making ideas happen!”
Last year, Bizooka started with a B-Plan Competition which saw humongous participation from B-Schools, Undergrad Colleges and running Start-ups from all over India and a team from SIBM Pune came out as the winners of the coveted title.
This year, the Entrepreneurship Cell was set to raise the bar with conducting the first ever Start-up Conclave of SIIB. The team set out to list down budding Start-ups from all over the country which have disrupted to deliver the goods like no one else. The first one to get into the kitty was Cashkaro.com. A cool concept, it works like an aggregator to 500+ E-Commerce companies and generates traffic to these sites, in return, the customer is benefited through extra cashback on the best online deal. Bizooka 2.0 was proud to be powered by Cashkaro.com.
E-Cell@SIIB boasts of their kind support from TiE Pune and we were glad to have Mr. Vishwas Mahajan, Director, TiE Pune Chapter to share his thoughts on starting up and making an association of all Symbians. He believed that the real power lies in this network.
Hello Haptik! Well Mumbaikars are proud of their very own personal assistant. Book tickets, get grocery, call a cab or reserving that special table for your date, Haptik does it all and that too, on a chat. We were proud to have Mr. Akhil Aryan, Product & Growth Manager of Haptik on Campus to motivate the students about entrepreneurship. He quoted, “If you want to do something, find a way or find an excuse!”
Wonder having a restaurant delivering Indian food at your doorstep under 30 minutes but hey there’s a catch, they don’t have a kitchen! Hyderabad based Hello Curry works on the KICK Model, Kitchen in Commercial Kitchen. They don’t have their own kitchens but tie-up with other Restaurants and use their kitchen. Asset-light and fast, they have a tie-up with IRCTC to deliver tasty food on your train journeys. Mr. Raju Bhupati, Founder and CEO of Hello Curry insisted students not to worry about funding but the execution of the idea.
We were also proud to have Mr. Ankur Joshi, founder of RushHrs, the fast-food chain. Last year, he came up with his second start-up, Blaez. It is a platform that facilitates the transactions between restaurants and wholesale vendors, and are therefore automating the B2B operations in the sector – from ordering, accounting to delivery of stock.
The B-Plan Competition was set to take the next level this season because of the disruptive ideas the teams had. Ranging from Milk testing machine, Swachh Plastic to an application for getting your bike serviced. Our esteemed panel of judges had a tough time scrutinizing the B-Plans to their core and finally, the team from IIT Kharagpur emerged as the winners.
Bizooka 2.0 ended with a curious bunch of students who are motivated enough to execute their ideas. Hope the Entrepreneurship Cell will be ready with an Incubator Cell on Campus in the future to come. #DisruptToDeliver
