OUTBOUND organised by SIIB literally meant going OUT OF BOUNDS.
As, a part of curriculum SIIB offers an exceptionally amazing Outbound programme, under which all students are taken to nature’s lap, where they are given a chance to blend up and know each other better. This year the place was Surya Shibir, being part of the induction process I would like to share my experience.
My MBA journey began with a two-day induction process at SIIB, where we got to know our professors and the subjects they were going to teach us. The induction process was followed by a two-day outbound programme, under which the students were taken to Surya Shibir, to provide them a secluded environment away from all the rigorous activities of the college, where the students would get a chance to interact amongst themselves and to become better friends by knowing each other well.
The day started with dividing the students in several teams randomly. After dividing the students into teams, we were given several tasks, which required the collective effort of all the team members. Without even realising or remembering each others name, everyone started working together as a team and eventually we got to interact with all our batchmates, the day was full packed with one task followed by another all of them helped us in knowing our teammates better and helped us in gaining a key managerial aspect i.e. how to work together in a team.
Certain tasks required physical strength while the otherones were a mental toll, the amazing bend of physical as well as mental tasks helped us in identifying our strength and weaknesses as well as too understanding the outlook of our teammates better, and to gain from there set of experiences.
When we guys went for the outbound we were just a bunch of students from different backgrounds, culture, state but we all came back as one happy family.
