The Outbound Programme for SIIB(Batch 2017-19) on 9th and 10th June 2017 led by Col Sameer Kulkarni at Mohili Meadows, Karjat was an astonishing experience for our batch where we learnt different management skills like leadership, team work, positive attitude, prioritization, warmth and competence etc in the form of fun-filled games. This experience will be cherished in our hearts forever.
We, a strength of 240 started at 7:30 am on 9th June in our respective buses. During the bus journey of around 2 hrs 40 minutes, we came across the scenic beauty of Lonavala and played Antakshari enroute Karjat. After reaching there we had a grand welcome at the entrance with Dhol percussions and welcome drink.Students danced there heart out till the way to their rooms. After freshening up everyone had a yummy breakfast. Then itenary for the day was announced where we students were divided into 10 groups and each group had to perform 10 activities. These were Caterpillar Walk, SpiderWeb,Zip line,Passing the Baton, ChillyBilly, WaterRelay, Magic Carpet, Gutter Ball, Hulahoop, Blind Train and at the end, the team with maximum score was to be announced the winner. Zipline was a new experience for many. After this there was arrangement for rain dance and pool dance from 6 pm to 8 pm post which there was DJ night simultaneous with Dinner. It was tiring yet enjoyable for everyone.
With drizzling, the weather was very pleasant. The next morning, we started for trekking at around 7 am. This was the first trekking experience for most of us.The trek had rocks, mud, narrow bushes, cacti, crabs. The trek also gave us a lesson that whatever be the difficulties in life face them and move ahead, you will surely reach your destination!
After returning from trek, we had breakfast and then in sometime the last activity of the trip came along i.e. Treasure Hunt. Then we were announced to pack up our bags and do the checkout and have lunch.Post lunch we had recap of past two days which was shown via video. Students were asked to share their experiences of Outbound programme. Students thanked Col Kulkarni for his constant support by a standing ovation. Then winners of the ten games and treasure hunt were announced separately.
Then we headed back to Campus ending the trip on a happy note and making many new friends!!!
