“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
– Steve Jobs
These words from Steve Jobs always inspire me to go and try different things in life in search of my true passion. Let me tell you it is not easy to find passion or motive in your life. Some people already know what they really want to do in their life and some people are like me, who are still searching for their passion, the motive of life and hope someday it will come to them like many hopes it can. As I am a ward of defence personnel, I have always travelled around in different places. But my college life was way more fun and it provided me with an opportunity to understand people for which I am grateful. I think when I write these few lines, everyone can relate it to their graduation days or golden days of their life. It’s the first time we live away from our homes, our comfort zone. The first time we have money in our pockets and no one is going to ask us that how to spend it or where to spend it (except for some friends :p). First time there are no restrictions upon us and we are free to do whatever we want and trust me, everyone, love this freedom. After getting into SIIB, it was again a new start for me and my fellow colleagues, it was a chance to experience those first-time things again in our life. I don’t know much about everyone else but for me, it’s time to think and plan my future again but now with a different perspective and different goals. First hardest thing after getting a new start like this is to interact with new people, people with different backgrounds and different cultures and try to make them friends. Trust me, every one of us goes through this exact phase in our new chapter of life, when we have to start again from the scratch. I was lucky that I already knew many of my batch-mates before the class started and all thanks to IM ‘WhatsApp’, and when we met with each other it was like we all knew each other. The way we were interacting with each other, no words can explain this special type of bonds between us, which we formed among us. Then starts the hardest part of any college life, finding some people whom you connect instantaneously and luckily, I found those guys in the matter of few days. Now everyone will be thinking why you want to find these people? So my answer to those people is simple, you can make 1000 friends, but still, there are always few people whom you can rely on, you can trust upon to share some of your secrets which will remain safe in their hearts.
You know the difficult part of the first few days of college, that is to interact with your new roommates because every other guy or gal you meet in college. you can ignore (if you really want to) but you will never get that chance to ignore your roommates. I think after reading this me and my roommates will be going to talk a LOT (you can guess the topic.. :p). The first day of class, you meet different personalities and believe me, some you going to like and some.. (You can fill the blanks). Well, for me, I am a talkative person so I like silent people to whom I can share my feelings (even though my really good friend is similar to me :p), thoughts about life, crack jokes and they listen to my continuous blabbering. It is needless to say, you have also find someone with whom you connected instantaneously. After that comes outbound program where we were grouped and we really get to know different awesome personalities that come to this college. When we came back, the real tuff part starts that is to get into a committee which luckily I found one (Student activity committee). After a series of events and occasions which we celebrated together in SIIB one thing I am sure about, that if 1st sem was this rocking with foundation day celebration, event organised by my committee( well I have to brag about it :p) and much more which are very hard to explain we all can’t wait for second sem and the opportunity which that sem hold for us.
One thing which I loved about SIIB is that, interacting with all different kind of people just taught each one of us one valuable lesson of life, that there’s a time and a place for everything and it’s called college. Okay, I guess we got deviated from the topic which was, why are we here at SIIB? And now after spending few months talking and interacting with these wonderful people’s, I think everyone will have their different answers, different point of views, a different set of thoughts, but for me, I am here to change the course of my life and I think SIIB will help me in doing so. I am here to learn and as I already mentioned I am here to find the true passion of my life, true meaning of my life and I think I am going to find it soon, WILL YOU????
