Mujumdar, the founder of Symbiosis spotted an opportunity to train young managers for the changing India and SIFT (now SIIB) was born – starting its journey in a small barrack-like structure!
Success comes from hard work and commitment and at SIIB the dedicated faculty, staff, the excellent alumni, and students have ensured that SIIB is among the top B – schools in the country.

It was under her leadership that the niche post graduate AgriBusiness program took root at SIIB.

Dr. Gupte played an instrumental role in re-establishment of the campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure in Hinjawadi. Around this time, SIIB also initiated a series of international collaborations, fulfilling its vision of internationalization.
SIIB was launched with the mission of producing world-class leaders. SIIB strived to bridge the gap separating Indian opportunities and those offered by its global counterparts. 26 years after its inception, SIIB is still focused on providing quality education to the masses.
